I am inspired by an artist I found on YouTube named Yong Chen who only uses 4 colors and two paintbrushes, and he does not sketch his images out before painting. I followed that model for the first time ever with this painting and I succeeded in only using 4 colors and no sketches (though I used 4 paintbrushes). I can't say I am as positive, confident, or skilled as Yong Chen but it was a fun to try his style. I took the photo in a Hanoi market in 2013 and painted it in 2024.
